FAA requirements (14 CFR 61.103 & 61.109)

- 3rdClass medical (minimum)An FAA medical certificate is required before you solo. If you're pursuing an airline career, consider a first-class medical up front.
- 40Hours minimum flight timeIncluding at least 20 hours with an instructor and 10 hours solo: cross-country, night, instrument, and checkride-prep training.
